Recently, I have claimed a free sleeping bag from Bonuslink. I think i use about 4000 points to claim the sleeping bag. It is made of hollow fibre 125 G/SQM, and i feel that it is not thick enough for comfortable sleep outdoor. Free item is always not good.

Having a sleeping bag is very useful especially if you go for outstation trip. All you need to do is unfold the sleeping bag, and sleep in the sleeping bag. The next morning, all you need to do is to fold it and put back into the bag. Simple right.

Maybe I should get a thicker sleeping bag for my next outstation trip.

Vitamin as supplement

I saw from newspaper today that there will be decrease in petrol price. This is due to the decrease in gas price recently. Malaysia, who plan to only subsidise RM0.30 per litre of petrol will remain with that decision. They even planned to review the price each month. So, at the beginning of each month, the petrol price will fluctuate depending on the market.

Will this be feasible? Well, I don't think so. First, this will give problem to other market, including food, transportation, etc. Do you expect the company to increase or decrease the food price each month? Lots of money need to be spend to inform the distributor, seller, and customer.

Secondly, this fluctuation of petrol price will not benefit people of lower income. This is because some of them hardly survive with the current petrol price. Let's say the price increase the next month, they will be pushed hard financially.

Playing futsal

For the past few weeks, I have been quite active in futsal. There is not much thing to do in Kuantan. I usually team with my close friends.

Recently, there is this particular guy, who is very fast. He got very good stamina and his leg is super fast. Even before I touch the ball, his leg already reach the ball. Is there any way to handle this fast guy? I was thinking day and night. Playing with such a player will definitely help me to improve. I will try to improve myself so that I can play better than him.

I spend quite a lot for futsal. Each game will cost me between RM6-10. That haven't include drinking session with my friends after futsal. Petrol. Anyway, I like playing futsal, and it is a healthy activity. So that is the money well spend.

Taxi problem

I went to KL last Sunday. To my surprise, there are still un-metered taxi. When I asked one of the taxi driver, he said his meter has been broken for ages. All the taxi in the area are also without meter. Then, I ask them to offer me a price to send me to my friend's house, which is about 5KM. Guess how much? He charged me RM20! That is terrible.

I was left with no choice but to take taxi, because there are no bus or train to my friend's house. In the taxi, I found out that they taxi driver rent their taxi from company for 4 years. They have to pay the company about RM40 per day. The rest is their net income.

I will never take unmetered taxi again!

Next weekend I will be going to Awana Kijal Apartment with my close friends. This is just a one-day relaxation holiday. We estimate each of us to spend about RM120 for the whole trip. Below is the picture of the apartment that we are going to stay for one night.

I am using Maxis PostPaid. For individual plan, they have standard plan and value plans. For standard plan, you just need to pay access fee of RM 30 per month. However, the call rate for standard plan is more expensive than value plan. For value plans, there are Value 50, Value 80, and Value 150. That is the minimum monthly commitment that you need to pay. The higher the plan value, the cheaper the call rate.

As for Family Plan, there are 2 types:

Family Plus Plan
Supplementary Line

For family plus plan, supplementary line need to pay minimum monthly commitment of RM 50. There is credit sharing between each family lines and also free 20 hours talk time and 2000 SMS. This package is very cost effective especially for couple who make long call or send lots of SMS. For the supplementary line package, the supplement line just need to pay RM 10 access fee. However, there will not be any free talk time/SMS between each line.

Petrol price hike

Yesterday our Prime Minister announced that the price of petrol will be increased. To make the matter worse, the price of electricity bill will also be increased.

Petrol price increased from RM1.92/litre to RM2.70/litre (that's increase of 40.6%)
Diesel price increased from RM1.58/litre to RM2.58/litre (that's increase of 63.3%)

Still, there is no salary increase being announced. There is massive traffic jam nearby each petrol station.

In my opinion, the price hike is fine as long as the government don't misuse the money. Everyone is complaining that they expenses for petrol will increase. I can bet that before the price increase, you will be driving to another place even it is just like 300 metre away. It is time to learn to save petrol. Saving on petrol means saving the environment.

This price hike will not affect those upper middle class society. Those fresh graduate with new car will be hurt most. I only focus my discussion on individual and not those companies. Of course, company expenditure will increase, will in turn will cause an increase in the price of goods.

I am sure that with proper financial planning, all this increase of petrol, goods, everything consumer item you can mention in Malaysia, will not be a problem to you. Spend wisely from now on..

How short is short-term? It depends on individual. For me, I set my short term objective within 5 years, while middle term is within 10 years from the moment I begin work.

This is the most important sentence that will make property the best ever investment. Investing in property has higher risk compared to share market. The higher the amount that you invest, the higher the risk is. It is as simple as that.

Some people invest in property for the capital gain. Some invest for the steady passive income from rental each month. KL Tower

Today I went to KL Tower, which is Malaysia tallest communication tower. It stands at 421 above ground level. It took us about 1 minute to get to the observation deck, where we can see bird's eye view of whole city of Kuala Lumpur. The view is magnificent.Entrance fee is RM20 per person and RM10 for Malaysian. They have very friendly staffs who greet us politely. That's the way our country should always demonstrate in order to have first class tourism.

I'll definitely bring my friend from other part of the world to visit this place. Kudos to management of KL Tower!

On my previous post on 'Rich Dad Poor Dad', i mention about the basic cash flow pattern. It can be divided into Income Statement and Balance Sheet. Income Statement is also known as profit or loss statement. Balance Sheet consist of Asset and Liability.

In this post, I will go deeper into cash flow pattern. Income statement is basically our the income that we obtained (eg. the salary that we earn monthly).\

Balance sheet is consist of asset and liability. Examples of asset are property, car, and shophouses. Liability includes credit card interest, housing loan interest, and much more.

Therefore, in order to have a good financial plan, we must have steady income of asset. Collecting rental from house or shop will be part of our income statement. Try to reduce liability that i mention above.
